1. Controller
Controller within the meaning of the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / revDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

2. Principles
I take the protection of your personal data seriously and comply with applicable data protection laws, in particular the revFADP and, where applicable, the GDPR. Personal data is only collected where necessary for the operation of the website or to respond to a contact enquiry.
Data transmission is encrypted via SSL/TLS. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.
3. Server log files
When this website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information and stores it in so-called server log files:
- Anonymised IP address
- Date and time of access
- File requested and volume of data transferred
- Successful retrieval confirmation
- Browser and operating system used (user agent)
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
These data are evaluated solely to ensure smooth operation and to improve the service. Legal basis: Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP / Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). The data are deleted after no more than 30 days.
4. Contact by email
If you send me an email to beratung(at)ritterconsult.ch, your data (email address, name, message text) will be stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR) / legitimate interest (Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP).
These data will be deleted after your enquiry has been processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
5. Cookies
This website uses cookies only to a minimal extent. Cookies are small text files that your browser stores locally.

Analytics and marketing cookies
Currently, no analytics or marketing cookies are used. If corresponding services (e.g. web analytics) are added in future, they will be used exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). This policy will be updated before activation.
You can revoke your consent at any time via the button in the footer.
6. Data processing and subcontractors
When providing consulting, content and marketing services, I may in individual cases engage subcontractors in Switzerland or abroad (e.g. for video editing, graphic production, translation, voiceover). Personal data are generally not passed on to subcontractors.
Where, in exceptional cases, disclosure is required for the performance of an order, I conclude a data processing agreement within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR or Art. 9 revFADP with the respective subcontractor. For data transfers to countries outside the EEA (third countries), additional appropriate safeguards are agreed, in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR and the protective measures required under revFADP. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b/f GDPR / Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP.
On request to beratung(at)ritterconsult.ch, I will inform you about the subcontractors engaged in the specific case and the safeguards put in place.
7. Linked external projects
This website links to my three project websites Studienflüsterer (studienfluesterer.com), Alpboost (alpboost.ch) and Fernstudium Talk (fernstudium-talk.de). All three project websites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you access the respective site. Fernstudium Talk is operated jointly with FS Direkt GmbH (Greven, DE); its imprint and privacy policy name both controllers.
8. Your rights
You have the following rights at any time:
- Information about the data stored about you (Art. 25 revFADP, Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 32 revFADP, Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data, where no retention obligations apply (Art. 32 revFADP, Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 28 revFADP, Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future

9. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (EDÖB / FDPIC): edoeb.admin.ch. Persons resident in the EU may also contact the competent national data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be adapted in response to technical or legal changes. The version published on this page applies. The date of last update is shown above.
